Two well known WA Arabian identities were rewarded for the efforts at the 2008 Arabian Horse Society of Australia Awards night held in Sydney earlier this year.
WAAHA Life member and long time committee member, Sheila Weigall was recognised for her dedication to the Arabian breed and the promotion of the breed in WA by being presented with a Distinguished Service Award.
"Sundale Shivanah" (East Lynne Sapling x Myriah Park Marina) the 7 year old Arabian Stockhorse Mare ridden by Melissa Ellery, was named the 2007 Arabian Derivative Saddle Horse of the Year after winning an amazing 5 Australian Championships.
Former WA resident and Arabian breeder, Paul Morath (Glo-Brook Stud), was named the 2007 Arabian Derivative Breeder of the Year.
Congratulations to Sheila, Melissa and Paul for their well deserved recognition at a national level.

Bunbury All Breeds Show on March 30 winning -
Champ galloway gelding, Supreme champ galloway; Champion Derivative gelding, Supreme Derivative; Supreme of Supremes Led; Champion ridden Hack and Supreme Ridden of Show.
Could you please pass along my thanks to all the instructors, they were fantastic to donate their time and share their training and make up secrets with us “newbies”. The sausage sizzle was also a great success!
